SCS/SB 806 - Section 58.700, RSMo, provides for medical examiners in certain second classification counties and all first classification noncharter counties. There is an option for certain first classification counties with an elected coroner to retain the coroner or to appoint a medical examiner.
This act extends the coroner/medical examiner option to Cape
Girardeau County.
