SB 807 - Currently, members of the Public Service Commission (PSC), the Public Counsel and employees of the PSC and the Public Counsel are prohibited from suggesting, to a regulated utility, the employment of any person, and regulated utilities are prohibited from offering employment or any thing of value to members of the PSC, the Public Counsel and employees of the PSC and the Public Counsel. The act provides that the Missouri Ethics Commission shall receive complaints alleging any violation of these requirements. Any employee found to have violated these requirements shall be terminated from employment, subject to appeal as provided by law and that person shall not be eligible for further employment by the state of Missouri. Any commissioner found to have violated these requirements shall be removed from office by the Governor.

Every PSC commissioner, the Public Counsel and every person employed or appointed to office, either by the PSC or the Public Counsel is forbidden, for a period of two years following the termination of his office or employment by the PSC or by the Public Counsel, to accept any employment by any regulated utility. Any person guilty of knowingly violating this requirement shall be punished as follows: (1) For the first offense, such person is guilty of a class B misdemeanor; (2) For the second and subsequent offenses, such person is guilty of a Class D felony.

This act contains penalty provisions.
