Current Bill Summary

SB 930 - Currently the law allows cosmetologists holding a Class A license to be licensed as an esthetician without examination, but 1995 revisions eliminated the Class A license in favor of several subclasses, two of which are hairdresser (Class CH) and hairdresser/manicurist (Class CA). This act allows those with a Class CH license or a Class CA license to be licensed as an esthetician without examination until July 1, 1997.

This act also increases the number of hours an apprentice cosmetologist seeking licensure must complete from 700 to 780, as well as increases the number of hours a student manicurist seeking licensure must complete from 350 to 390.
