To amend chapter 115, RSMo, relating to elections, by adding one new section relating to the same subject.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section A. Chapter 115, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 115.052, to read as follows:
115.052 1. In each county which does not have a board of election commissioners, the county clerk shall have the authority to appoint two attorneys for legal consultation and representation in election matters only. Each major political party, as defined in subdivision 13 of section 115.013, shall provide a list of attorneys available for appointment. The county clerk shall choose no more than one attorney from a list provided by a major political party.
2. The amount of any fees to be paid to the attorney in exchange for legal services shall be subject to the approval of the county commission.
