FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Department of Insurance (INS) stated that passage of this
legislation will have no fiscal impact on their department. However, the
passage of more than one similar proposal could require the INS to request
increased appropriations to cover cumulative administrative cost.
Officials from the Department of Labor-Division of Workers Compensation,
Department of Highway and Transportation, Department of Conservation,
Department of Corrections, and the Office of Administration stated that
passage of this legislation will have no fiscal impact on their department.

DESCRIPTION
Currently, there are different reporting requirements for injuries involving
less than $500 in medical costs. This bill would remove the distinction in
reporting injuries, making all injuries reported in the same way, as was
done prior to 1993. This act is identical to SB 720 (1994).
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
