FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Department of Social Services and the Department of
Economic Development - Division of Professional Registration assume this
proposal would not fiscally impact their agencies.
Department of Health (DOH) officials state that in discussions with the state
hospice advisory council, the sliding scale fee would be determined by such
criteria as number of patients, number of FTEs, etc., with a minimum fee of
$250 and a maximum of $750. DOH assumes that of the 80 existing hospices,
25% would pay the minimum, 50% a mid range of $500 and 25% would pay the $750
fee. DOH states that the current fee is $250 per year for 80 hospice
programs or $20,000 annually. DOH estimate total fees under this proposal
would be $40,000 annually. The net difference would be an increase of
$20,000 annually
