permissive.
DESCRIPTION
This act would allow first class county commissions the option to elect or
appoint county auditors and county recorders of deeds.
Currently, the county commission in first class charter counties must appoint
a county auditor. In first class noncharter counties, the county auditor
must be elected. The recorder of deeds in first class counties must also be
elected.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
