To amend chapter 290, RSMo, by adding one new section relating to prevailing wages.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

     Section A. Chapter 290, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 290.345, to read as follows:

     290.345. 1. Any new public works project with an estimated cost of less than one hundred thousand dollars or any public works project for the renovation of existing buildings with an estimated cost of less than fifty thousand dollars shall be exempt from the provisions of sections 290.210 to 290.340.

     2. The estimated costs in subsection 1 of this section shall be adjusted on an annual basis in accordance with the consumer price index for all urban consumers for the United States, or its successor index, as such index is defined and officially reported by the United States Department of Labor, or its successor agency.
