     To repeal section 578.390, RSMo 1994, relating to welfare and health care fraud and abuse, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the same subject.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
     Section A. Section 578.390, RSMo 1994, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 578.390, to read as follows:
     578.390. The office of the attorney general shall establish and maintain a statewide toll-free telephone service which shall be operated on a sixteen-hour schedule during the work week and an eight-hour schedule on weekends and holidays to receive complaints of a suspected welfare fraud or fraud and abuse in health insurance and health care delivery. This service shall receive reports over a single statewide toll-free number. Complaints concerning health care fraud and abuse will be received whether related to private sector, public or other government-supported health care programs, plans and services.
