SB 448 - This act defines the rights of funeral processions
and the obligations of those responsible for them. Pedestrians
and operators of vehicles are required to yield to a funeral
procession, with exceptions for emergency vehicles and law
enforcement. Funeral processions shall travel at a speed of at
least five miles per hour below the posted speed. Other drivers
are prohibited from interfering with a funeral procession.
Anyone violating these provisions shall be guilty of an
infraction, punishable by a fine not to exceed one hundred
dollars. Funeral establishment liability for any death, personal
injury or property loss is limited to one million dollars per
incident, unless the damages were intentional or a result of
gross negligence. The Department of Revenue shall publish the
motorist's responsibilities in its driver's handbook.
