FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Office of State Courts Administrator assume the proposed
legislation would not result in a direct fiscal impact to the judiciary;
however, this proposal could make it more difficult to assemble a
representative jury pool.
Officials from the Office of the Attorney General assume the proposed
legislation would have no fiscal impact on their agency.

(10 Mo.)
$0 $0 $0
FISCAL IMPACT - Local Government FY 1998 FY 1999 FY 2000

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
Small businesses which employ primarily men or primarily women could be
fiscally impacted by this proposal as women could be automatically excused
from jury service, which could also result in more men being called for jury
service.
DESCRIPTION
This proposal would allow any woman who lives at least five miles from a
county seat to be excused from jury duty by making a written request.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
