ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
assume the proposal would result in no fiscal impact to DESE or the school
districts.
Officials from the Department of Social Services state the proposal would not
require any changes in procedures for children in the custody of the Division
of Family Services or Division of Youth Services. They state that
educational decisions are usually made in consultation with the child's
parents. Therefore, they assume the proposal would result in no fiscal
impact to the department.

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of
this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
The states that no changes would be made to a pupil's schedule of classes
pursuant to any program linking education and careers until the changes have
been approved in writing by a custodial parent or guardian.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
