FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Department of Economic Development (DED)-Professional
Registration (DPR) anticipate the issuance of few temporary licenses to
applicants applying for a permanent license on the basis of reciprocity of
another state license and therefore, assume any additional revenue would be
minimal. Also, any additional expenses could be absorbed by the Board.
Officials from the Administrative Hearing Commission (AHC) assume the
proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on their agency.
FISCAL IMPACT - State Government FY 1998 FY 1999 FY 2000
(10 Mo.)
$0 $0 $0
FISCAL IMPACT - Local Government FY 1998 FY 1999 FY 2000
(10 Mo.)
$0 $0 $0
FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of
this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
The proposed legislation would allow the Board of Healing Arts to accept
Canadian licensing examinations for licensure. The proposal would provide
that the Board could issue a license which is subject to probation,
restriction or limitation, in lieu of the refusal to issue or renew a
license. The proposal would provide for temporary licensure to applicants
applying for a permanent license on the basis of reciprocity of another state
license.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
