FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of
this proposal.

DESCRIPTION

This proposal would allow the Department of Health to place the holder of a
license to provide child care on probation. Under current law, licensees
may be suspended or have their license revoked. The proposal would also
establish an internal appeals process which could be used by child care
providers subject to sanction by the Department. The Department would be
authorized to seek injunctive relief, through the office of the Attorney
General, to stop the operation of a child care facility, if it has reason to
believe that conditions warrant such action.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
