FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Department of Economic Development (DED)-Professional
Registration (DPR) assume the proposed legislation would have no fiscal
impact on their agency.
FISCAL IMPACT - State Government FY 1998 FY 1999 FY 2000
(10 Mo.)
$0 $0 $0
FISCAL IMPACT - Local Government FY 1998 FY 1999 FY 2000
(10 Mo.)
$0 $0 $0
FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of
this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
The proposed legislation would allow cosmetology schools with an enrollment
that exceeds the maximum capacity of students per instructor to use
instructor trainees to teach up to ten additional students. One instructor
is authorized to teach up to three instructor trainees immediately after
being granted an instructor's license.
Instructor trainees would be required to be licensed in esthetics and would
have the number of hours of instructor training requirements reduced from
1,200 to 700.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
