ASSUMPTION
Officials of the Office of the State Courts Administrator, Missouri Sheriff's
Association, Office of Prosecution Services, Office of the Attorney General
and the Missouri Highway Patrol assume this proposal would not fiscally
impact their agency.
Officials of the Office of the State Public Defender and the Department of
Corrections assume this proposal would have a minimal fiscal impact on their
agency.

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of
this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
This proposal would make the purposeful killing of a police animal while the
animal is involved in an investigation or in apprehending a criminal, or the
attempt to kill or cause serious injury to a police animal a Class D felony.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
