ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Office of State Courts Administrator, the Department of
Labor (State Board of Mediation; Labor and Industrial Relations Commission),
and the Office of Administration (Administrative Hearing Commission) assume
the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on their agencies.
Officials from the City of St. Louis did not respond to our fiscal impact
request.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
Small businesses could be impacted by this proposal, as it would allow them
to choose arbitration for disputes that previously would have required
litigation.
DESCRIPTION
The proposal would remove the requirement in arbitration agreements that the
amount in controversy be greater than the maximum amount allowed in small
claims court actions.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
