FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials of the State Tax Commission indicate that the proposal would save
counties money but can not estimate how much might be saved.
Oversight assumes that there would be test cases to explore the question of
whether the proposal would provide adequate notice to some delinquent
taxpayers, but assumes there would not be enough cases to affect state
courts.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business
Small businesses which own parcels with assessed values of five hundred
dollars or less could be affected by this proposal.
DESCRIPTION
This proposal would allow county collectors to list certain parcels of land
with assessed values of five hundred dollars or less separately from other
parcels in newspaper notices of delinquent land sales. The list would not
include legal descriptions or names of record owners of the parcels. The
notice would state that legal descriptions and names of record owners would
be posted at the county courthouse and the office of the county collector.
This proposal contains an emergency clause.
