FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials of the Division of Legislative Research would request one FTE to
edit session laws and oversee sales and distribution of those laws. (They
note that the session laws would be ready for distribution four months
earlier each year than they are now. They think this would increase sales of
session laws, but can not estimate how much sales would increase.) They also
note that there would be a savings on distribution costs for session laws.
Officials of the Secretary of State would not expect the proposal to affect
their office fiscally. (That office is not editing session laws, now.)

DESCRIPTION
This proposal would have staff of the Joint Committee on Legislative Research
edit, headnote, collate, index and proof session laws, measures and
resolutions and have them bound and printed. The bound and printed session
laws would be delivered to the Revisor of Statutes, who would distribute them
to the same entities who receive copies of the Revised Statutes of Missouri.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program, would not require additional capital improvements or rental space,
and would not affect total state revenue.
