HB 265 -- PROBATION REVOCATION HEARINGS (Richardson) This bill repeals section 559.027 RSMo. Together with other statutes it allows a probation case to be transferred within a judicial circuit with the consent of both judges. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
HB 265 -- PROBATION REVOCATION HEARINGS SPONSOR: Richardson COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Criminal Law by a vote of 13 to 0. This bill repeals section 559.027 RSMo. Together with other statutes it allows a probation case to be transferred within a judicial circuit with the consent of both judges. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill repeals current law that made a probation revocation hearing an independent proceeding and not a continuation of the plea bargain proceeding or trial.
