HB 41 -- POLITICAL PARTY COMMITTEES SPONSOR: Hosmer COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 18 to 0. This bill requires the county courthouse in all second and third class counties to be made available for certain political party meetings at no charge to the party committee. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporter say that this bill is needed because in many rural counties there is no place to meet. These meetings are required by law and meeting places are required by law. Testifying for the bill was Representative Hosmer. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
