FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
HB 710 -- FOURTH CLASS CITIES SPONSOR: Foley COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 17 to 0. This bill permits the board of alderpersons in fourth class cities by ordinance to pay a maximum of $200 per month compensation to board members on the planning and zoning commission, the board of adjustments, and the board of police commissioners. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that board members in fourth class cities do a lot of work and good members are hard to find. The compensation would have to be approved by the board of alderpersons. Testifying for the bill was Representative Foley. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
