HB 813 -- SPECIAL ROAD DISTRICTS This bill requires any special road district board to appoint a treasurer for the special road district. The treasurer is authorized to issue checks in payment of debt incurred by the special road district and authorized by the board. Under current law the county treasurer is the special road district treasurer. This bill also replaces the current warrant system for expense payment with a warrant with attached check system.

This bill requires a special road district board to appoint a treasurer for the special road district. The treasurer is authorized to issue checks in payment of debt incurred by the special road district and authorized by the board. Under current law the county treasurer is the special road district treasurer. This bill also replaces the current warrant system for expense payment with a check payment. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill will give more control to the road districts. The current warrant system is outdated and confusing.
