SCS/SB 21 - This act allows any county and any municipality to impose a sales tax to be used solely for economic development purposes. The maximum sales tax rate for counties is one percent while the maximum sales tax rate for municipalities is one-half of one percent. The law currently applies to the counties of Clark, Johnson, Knox, Lewis, Schuyler and Scotland.

This act has an emergency clause.
