SB 002 - Introduced Summary
- Introduced -

SB 2 - Current law allows a county which contains a part of Lake Ozark (Benton, Camden, Miller and Morgan) to establish a lake area business district in which a sales tax on sleeping rooms of between two and six percent may be imposed. The tax must be approved by the voters and the proposal must indicate the uses of the moneys generated by the tax. This act extends these provisions to counties containing a lake with a shoreline of one hundred miles or more, including Monroe, Shelby, Ralls, Wayne, Butler, Taney, Ozark, Henry, Hickory, St. Clair, Clay, Clinton, Polk, Cedar, and Dade. The act also exempts church facilities when used for church related purposes.
