SB 306 - This act increases the maximum tort liability for the state and political subdivisions from $1 million to $2 million for multiple claims arising from the same event and from $100,000 to $300,000 for a single claim. These limits will be adjusted annually in the future to account for inflation. The Commissioner of Administration, or governing body for a political subdivision, is authorized to purchase insurance up to the new levels of liability.
This act is similar to SB 271.
