SB 381 - This act would require all health care professionals to provide information to pregnant women regarding HIV infections and encourage these women to be tested for the HIV virus. This bill does not mandate that woman be tested. The test would be voluntary.

The act lists the information that the health care providers should give their clients, types of counseling which should be provided if a positive test result is received and states that reports on the number of women seen and the number of women testing positive for the HIV infection be sent to the Department of Health for informational purpose.
