Current Bill Summary

HCS/SB 842 - This act changes prohibition of possession of alkaloids in correctional centers from "any alkaloid of any kind", which includes tobacco, to "any alkaloid of any controlled substance". In addition, anyone previously convicted under that provision shall be entitled to an expungement, the procedure for which shall be identical to that for expungement of an arrest record. Expungement shall not be available for a conviction involving any alkaloid of a controlled substance.
