HCS/SB 898 - This act amends various laws regarding volunteer fire protection associations. Volunteer fire protection associations may respond to emergencies, rather than fires. A property owner or individual must notify the association not to respond to emergencies involving his property, or be liable for the appropriate fees or charges.
The act also changes the years upon which funding to the
fire education fund is based from the 1995 to 1997 fiscal year.
This provision of the act is similar to provisions in HB 1588
which has been truly agreed to.
