AN ACT

To amend chapter 253, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to state historic sites.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

Section A.  Chapter 253, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 253.417, to read as follows:

253.417.  1.  The first commercial film studio operated in Missouri by Walt Disney in Kansas City is hereby designated as a Missouri state historic site.

2.  The Missouri department of natural resources shall acquire the Disney film studio pursuant to appropriation by the general assembly.

3.  The department of natural resources shall rehabilitate the Disney film studio building and establish and operate a museum there dedicated to the life and works of Missourian Walt Disney and the role of other Missourians in the history and development of animated and live action films.
