FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Kansas City Manager's Office assume this proposal could potentially impact the City's General Fund by $ 0 to $750,000 for every one percent pay increase given to the law enforcement personnel as a whole. However, the City currently works with the Board of Police Commissioners' to offer some percentage increase in salaries to Kansas City Police Officers every year. The Board of Police Commissioners' current adopted pay plan already exceeds the proposed pay range minimums. By adopting the proposed legislation, law enforcement personnel currently at the maximum of their pay grade could receive additional compensation in future years. However, adjusting current salaries to the maximums range is optional and would have to be approved by the Kansas City City Council and the Board of Police Commissioners.
