Officials from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) assume the proposal would have no fiscal impact on DESE or school districts.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.

DESCRIPTION

The proposal would add an exception for school districts not starting school earlier than the first day of September in school districts which schedule a term which exceeds the number of school days and school hours of actual pupil attendance required to a minimum term.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
