HB 1229 Modifies state deferred compensation matching amount for state employees
Bill Summary
- Prepared by Senate Research -

SCS/HB 1229 - Under current law, the state contributes $25 per month to each participating employees' deferred compensation plan. The substitute increases authorization for up to $75 per month for each participating employee, pursuant to appropriations, and provides that an individual cannot receive more from the state than the amount the individual contributes to the plan. Funds have not been appropriated for this purpose for FY 1999. If fully funded, the SCS would cost $31.5M, an increase of $20M over the current $25 contribution.
