HB 1293 -- BOARD OF EQUALIZATION SPONSOR: Pouche COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 15 to 0. This bill prohibits the appointment of any office holder, or board member or employee of the county or any political subdivision to the county board of equalization. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill would make the board of equalization fair and impartial. Testifying for the bill was Representative Pouche.
