HB 1300 -- TEMPORARY PERMITS (Kennedy) This bill sets the operation period for temporary motor vehicle permits or plates at 30 days instead of the current 20 days. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
HB 1300 -- TEMPORARY PERMITS SPONSOR: Kennedy COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Motor Vehicle and Traffic Regulations by a vote of 13 to 0. This bill sets the operation period for temporary motor vehicle permits or plates at 30 days instead of the current 20 days. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that temporary permits are only good for 20 days but the grace period for registration is 30 days. Allowing 30 for temporary permits will coincide with the time period for registration. Testifying for the bill was Representative Kennedy. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
