SCS/SB 608 - This act allows emergency personnel to use automatic defibrillators outside of a hospital if they have taken a class certified by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association and have shown proficiency with defibrillators.

In the absence of trained personnel, anyone may use an automatic defibrillator in the event of a medical emergency. Individuals who in good faith use a defibrillator shall not be liable for any civil damages as a result of such use.
