NOTICES - After 3 unpaid traffic or parking violations, a city can notify the violator that proceedings for driver's license suspension will be initiated. If 45 days elapse without payment, the city can send a certified report of the nonpayment to the Missouri Director of Revenue. Upon receiving a certified report from a city, the Director of Revenue (DOR) shall also send a notice to the violator.

SUSPENSION - If no payment reaches the DOR within 35 days after the second notice, the driver's license suspension goes into effect. The suspension lasts until payment of the fines and the reinstatement fee of $20.

REINSTATEMENT - The city shall collect the reinstatement fee whenever the violator pays the fines. The city shall then immediately send notice of the payment received and the $20 reinstatement fee to the DOR. The city shall also immediately notify the DOR of any errors made.

EFFECTIVE DATE - The bill has an effective date of January 1, 1999.
