SB 772 - This act would put a three-month deadline on the completion of investigations by the Ethics Commission. The deadline may be extended only upon proving, in a closed hearing in Cole County Circuit Court, by a preponderance of the evidence that additional time is needed. Any investigation not completed and decided by the deadline shall be deemed not to be a violation.

This act applies to all ongoing investigations beginning on the effective date of this act.

This act has an emergency clause.
