SCR 30 - This resolution asks the Public Service Commission to re-examine its decision to eliminate community optional service in rural Missouri.

Community optional service provides extended area telephone service in rural areas between specific exchanges at a reduced rate and was initially instituted to minimize the disparity in the cost of telephone services between urban and rural areas. The PSC has issued an order to terminate community optional service, effective March 31, 1998. The resolution asks the PSC to vacate its decision, to reopen the consideration of the decision and to hold local public hearings on the question.
