SB 139 - This act allows county treasurers to finish their elected term when a third classification county becomes a first classification county. Treasurers in the different classification counties are elected on a different cycle of four year terms.
Current law already allows this for counties changing from third to second classification. No provision is made for counties like Taney, which will go from third to first classification in 2001.
Other elected offices are already provided for by law.
