HCS/SS/SB 289 - The act removes the June 30, 2000 sunset on authority for the Special School District of St. Louis County (SSD) to operate vocational and technical education programs for pupils residing in St. Louis County and St. Louis City.
The act codifies Proposition S, adopted in November of 1998,
which restructured the governance of the SSD by providing that
the SSD Board of Education members shall be elected by the SSD
Governing Council. The Governing Council shall continue to have
budget oversight for the special education programs in the SSD.
