SB 296 - This act allows individuals to get special license
plates known as "Respect Life License Plates." A $25
contribution to the Missouri Alternatives to Abortion Support
Fund would be made annually by any individual wanting the special
plates. The act establishes the Missouri Alternatives to
Abortion Support Fund and the Missouri Respect Life Commission.
The Missouri Respect Life Commission is empowered to administer
the fund and to facilitate information exchange which explains
alternatives to abortion services. Under the act, the Director
of Revenue shall display the specialized plates in all state
registration offices along with literature prepared by the
Director and the Missouri Respect Life Commission describing the
plates and the fund. The Director of Revenue shall make the
names and addresses of those individuals who contribute to the
fund available to individual members of the General Assembly and
to the Missouri Respect Life Commission.
