AN ACT
To repeal section 516.010, RSMo 1994, relating to ownership of real property, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the same subject.
Section A. Section 516.010, RSMo 1994, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 516.010, to read as follows:
516.010. 1. No action for the recovery of any lands, tenements or hereditaments, or for the recovery of the possession thereof, shall be commenced, had or maintained by any person, whether citizen, denizen, alien, resident or nonresident of this state, unless it appear that the plaintiff, his ancestor, predecessor, grantor or other person under whom he claims was seized or possessed of the premises in question, within ten years before the commencement of such action.
2. The provisions of this section and chapter 272, RSMo, notwithstanding, an action pursuant to this section shall not lie if the record owner of the real property in issue has continuously fulfilled all obligations related to ownership of the property including, but not limited to, timely remittance of all taxes due thereon.
