AN ACT

Relating to immunity from civil liability for certain persons.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

Section 1.  1.  As used in this section, the term "volunteer civic activities" means voluntary participation by a person of at least twenty-one years of age in a leadership or mentor role within an organization other than the public schools devoted to providing civic activities for children age eighteen and younger, including, but not limited to, boy scouts, girl scouts, 4-H and church-related social activities.

2.  A person who participates in volunteer civic activities shall not be civilly liable for acts or omissions by such person which amount to ordinary negligence in connection with the carrying out of volunteer civic activities.  This section shall not be construed to provide immunity for damages occasioned by gross negligence or by willful or wanton acts or omissions.
