Senate Interim Committee on Health Insurance
The committee is charged with studying the following issues:

How Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan can continue to provide affordable, quality health care plans to state and public employees;

The complaints regarding Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan alleged by several health care plans including allegations of financial losses, unequal treatment and contractual disputes;

Review Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plans' contracting process and the recent RFP's solicited and rejected by the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan;
-
The relationship between providers and health care plans; and
-
Any other related issue the Senate Interim Committee wishes to study.
The Interim Committee may solicit input and information from any group, organization and entity that it deems necessary to fulfill it's duties including the Missouri Department of Insurance and the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan.
The staff of Senate Research shall provide such legal, research, clerical, technical and bill drafting services as the Senate Interim Committee may require in the performance of it's duties. In addition, the actual and necessary expenses of the Senate Interim Committee members and legislative staff shall be paid from the Senate Contingent Fund.
On or before December 15, 1999, the Senate Interim Committee shall deliver to my office a detailed, written report which may include recommendations and potential legislative responses, if any.
