FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

The Department of Social Services - Division of Family Services (DFS) estimates this proposal will require an addition foster care appropriation of $1,748,800 paid from state and federal funds. Based on FY 98 children in DFS custody, this proposal will increase costs by the following amounts:

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.

DESCRIPTION

This proposal will increase the annual clothing allowance for children in the Division of Family Services' custody. Minimum clothing allowance would change to: $200 for 0 to 5 year olds, $300 for 6 to 12 year olds, and $400 for children 13 and older.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
