FISCAL ANALYSIS
ASSUMPTION
Officials of the Missouri Department of Transportation, Department of Public Safety - Missouri State Highway Patrol, Office of the Attorney General, Department of Insurance, Missouri Police Chiefs' Association, and Missouri Sheriffs' Association assume this proposal would have no fiscal impact to their agencies.
Officials of the State Courts Administrator assume this proposal should not have an appreciable impact on the workload of the courts.
Officials of the Department of Revenue - Motor Vehicle Bureau (MVB) assume expenses in the amount of $2,595 would be incurred in FY00 for law enforcement/towers informational package of required changes, policy revisions, forms and postage.
Oversight assumes MVB could absorb these costs within existing resources.

DESCRIPTION
This proposal would revise the requirements for the towing, storage and retitling of abandoned motor vehicles and vessels.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
