ASSUMPTION
Officials from the Office of the State Auditor (SAU) assume the proposed legislation would have no fiscal impact on their agency. The SAU officials assume they will have close to the same number of petitions, but with more signatures.

DESCRIPTION
The proposed legislation would change the basis for the number of required signatures to prompt a petition audit from the number of votes cast to the number of registered voters.
This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
This proposal would not affect Total State Revenues.
