FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials of the Department of Social Services, Officials of the Attorney General and the Department of Corrections assume that there would be no fiscal impact to their agencies as a result of this proposal.

Officials of the Office of Administration (COA) assume the proposal would not fiscally impact their agency. In response to an identical proposal in a previous legislative session, COA officials indicated that in times of rapid prison population growth, it could reduce the state and political subdivision's options to contract for space and result in the over building of jail capacity.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
