DESCRIPTION

This act modifies the provisions of Proposition A by prohibiting only cockfighting and bear wrestling. This act also removes provisions regarding the sale or transportation of fighting animals and the ownership or possession of cockfighting implements. This act also modifies the prohibition against manufacturing, selling, bartering or exchanging cockfighting implements by requiring the person to know that such implements will be used for such purpose. This act also removes the reference to the professional rodeo association, and instead allows rodeo practices sanctioned by any association established for promoting or operating rodeos.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
